Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens and Nursery is a turn of the century farm located in Fallbrook, California with their intention to bring people together to enjoy beautiful gardens and spend quality time with family. They have monthly festivals and fairs, live music, more than 10,000 plant species, concept gardens, petting zoo, a gift shop, build your own fairy land shop, gardening, and more. And to top it off, they have a foundation sponsoring 37 children from around the globe through Child Fund. Other supported organizations include: St Jude’s Hospital, Rady Children’s Hospital, The Smile Project, Ronald McDonald’s House, The San Diego Humane Society and more. Now talk about cool! Check out their website for more info.
We arrived around 12pm, just in time for lunch! We ate at the organic cafe called Café Bloom, a cute coffee shop in the vicinity, and ordered the delicious Chicken Avocado Wrap with Alfalfa and Sunflower Sprouts, Heirloom Tomato, Pickled Red Onion, Carrots, Grilled Chicken and Green Goddess Avocado Dressing. It was a very healthy lunch and oh so good! Of course, I had to try their coffee and it was very tasty but I highly recommend you order their berry lemonade that was absolutely fresh and sweet. Check out their menu here: Café Bloom.
After lunch we took our precious time to walk around the place. Because of COVID, we had to wear our mask the whole time, so please be respectful and follow the rules. We were one of the few people there because they just reopened with the San Diego guidelines of course, so we basically had the whole place to ourselves which was pretty nice and we didn’t have to worry about keeping our distance with others.
We fell in love with the place! There were a lot of “awww” and “Oh my gosh! This is too cute!” moments. A few of my favorite things to see were the gypsy wagon, the shop full of beautiful things and plants, oh and of course the goats! I can’t forget the goats! They were very funny jumping around and climbing ladders. If you are looking for a place to have a chill afternoon around Southern California, go discover one of San Diego’s most tranquil destinations. You are literally surrounded by shade of an ancient live oak forest. I honestly felt that I was in a secret garden so close to home.
Soooo, unfortunately we didn’t get to experience everything it has to offer because they’re just getting back to how things were before COVID. I do recommend that you sign up for their newsletter for special events and festivals so you can get the most out of the place. Check out my photo gallery below to see our adventure. It’s definitely a super cute spot to hangout with friends, go on a date, take instagrammable photos or take your kids to enjoy a family day. Enough said…check out my gallery!
Love you all!
